What We Intend to Achieve
The purpose of Living Sent Ministries is to inspire and equip business and professional people to live out their Christian faith. It is about "Connecting Sunday to Monday". Jesus said to them again, "Peace to You! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you" (John 20:21, HCSB). The big idea for Living Sent Ministries is that whatever we do vocationally we do in the name of Jesus Christ. By carrying out our jobs (vocation) in the name of Jesus, you will surely be blessed. Psalms 1:1-3 demonstrates this important point:
"Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers."
One can think of Living Sent Ministries as a bridge between the spiritual training we receive in church and the practical and tangible application of that training in the marketplace. In other words, we wish to help translate that vital training into action (we believe that all disciples of Jesus Christ should be active members of a Bible-based church) by extending the church (body of Christ) into the community. It is our desire to help equip you to live sent by building God's Kingdom at your work (a cultural mandate to rule and subdue the earth, Genesis 1:26-28) and to use your organization to make disciples(the Great Commission) and care for those in need (Matthew 28:18-20). Moreover, as followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to both a relationship with Him and to our careers or work (Romans 1: 1-7). Our work is holy to God!
